chardenoux: review

I had a great lunch here a few years ago when it was (I believe) a family-owned business. It served classic bistro food in a classic setting.

It's clearly under new ownership now, with a trendier menu and trendy bearded waiters wearing Stan Smith sneakers (yes, they're back).

Foie gras on brioche was excellent. Their hamburger was a good effort with a very nice homemade sesame bun, but it was a little bit "basic" and quite overcooked.

Dessert was wonderful: strawberries with strawberry "glace" and chantilly à la vanille.

There are some nice wines by the glass, served from magnums, to add to the trendiness of it all (Momofuku does this too). I had a wonderful Sancerre rouge, one of my favorite wines.
